About this journey

What makes this trip.

A west-to-east land journey through Uzbekistan, beginning inside the mud-brick ramparts of Khiva in Khorezm and continuing through Bukhara, Samarkand, and Tashkent. It weaves together Timurid architecture, living bazaars, historic Silk Road caravanserais, and the great religious and scientific monuments of Central Asia. Designed as a land program (arrival to departure) your agency can resell or white-label — operated end to end by our team on the ground and fully adjustable in length, hotel category, and pace per group.
  • Itchan Kala, the walled inner city of Khiva — the Kunya Ark fortress, the Juma (Friday) Mosque, and the Tash Khauli Palace
  • The turquoise Kalta Minor minaret and Khiva's illuminated ramparts at night
  • Bukhara's old city: the Ark Citadel, the Kalyan Mosque ensemble, and the Mir-i-Arab Madrasa
  • The Registan ensemble in Samarkand — by day and floodlit at night
  • Bibi-Khanym Mosque, the Shah-i-Zinda avenue of mausoleums, and the Gur-e-Amir (Amir Temur) Mausoleum
  • The Ulugh Beg Observatory and the Afrasiab Museum in Samarkand
  • Tashkent's Khast Imam complex with the Othman Quran manuscript, and the artistic metro stations
  • Silk Road stops en route: the Rabati Malik caravanserai and the Imam al-Bukhari memorial complex
